There is so much more to the Goodwood Revival than „just“ Racing. Throughout the weekend, the entire circuit has events, sales,
fashion shows and auctions happening. There is music and entertainment, unlimited temptations for shopping, air displays and
parades, there is heritage and tradition, fun and fierce competion and an
immense love to details and accuracy where ever you
look.
But the central theme of course is motorracing.
The first meeting on the former WWII airfield base`s
perimeter tracks was held in 1948 with regular
competition until 1966, when it was closed down due to
safety concerns. The Duke of Richmond desparately wanted to
bring back motor races to Goodwood and in 1998 the first Goodwood
Revival was held.
This years edition was blessed with beautiful sunshine and warm temperatures which made the whole event to a wonderful
happening. As always, the races on track were entertaining, battles were hard and fair, though not without drama, as some of the
precious cars will need intensive care in the workshops during the next weeks.
Eight races in different categories were held, add the track parades of the British transport, the Revival winners of the last 20 years
and the Rob Walker celebration and you have a weekend of motorsport in its finest form.
